Pack a Bag for Space

The Challenge: Pack a bag for your trip to the International Space Station. It can’t weigh more than 5 pounds. What will you choose to take?

  • We are going to assume that NASA will provide the basic things you need to survive like food and clothes, but you need to choose some personal items to take up with you for several months!
  • Some things to think about:
    • What will you miss when you are away from home?
    • What will you want to do in your free time?

Step 4 - Share

10min
For All Agess

Share with someone you love!

Share with someone you love! Today’s recommendation is to call a grandparent (or older family member) that doesn’t live at your house, and tell them about your project!

  • Possible things to talk about:
    • What did you learn?
    • What did you build?
    • What problems did you run into?
    • How did you solve them?

Step 5 - Go Deeper

1,000,000min
For All Agess

Find answers to these on Spot the Station

  • Why is the space station up there?
  • How often can I expect to see the space station?
  • How fast is the space station travelling?
